Guided by our expert team, including Regina Domingo and Leopoldo Sanmiguel, certified wildlife and adventure experts, and Jorge Lombera, a local captain, will dive with you into crystal-clear waters to snorkel with playful sea lions, vibrant fish, and dolphins. This adventure offers a perfect blend of land and sea experiences, making it a must for nature lovers. Located just 25 minutes from Loreto, Coronados Island is an uninhabited volcanic island known for its breathtaking beaches, bird rookeries, and a colony of California sea lions.

Enjoy snorkeling, bird-watching, or if you want a hike on this island paradise, surrounded by the vibrant marine life of the Sea of Cortez.

HIKE OPTION

The volcano hike:

Swap snorkeling for a guided hike to the summit of Coronado Volcano on Isla Coronado.

The beautiful 5.8 km route starts at Isla Coronada beach and leads to the top of Coronado volcano with a 280 m ascent. The hike takes about 2 to 2.5 hours round trip. It begins on a boardwalk, then a nice trail, turning into lava rock and stones. The path is marked by many rock piles. You will pass several curves before the summit. The last meters are sandy with loose stones, the hardest part. Good shoes are recommended. From the top, enjoy panoramic views of the Gulf of California and the rolling desert hills of Baja California Sur. It’s especially stunning at sunrise and sunset with breathtaking sky colors.

    • Meals & Dietary Information

      Meals are prepared with fresh ingredients from local Loreto providers and depend on seasonal availability, departure times, and weather conditions. Breakfast typically includes fresh fruit, homemade cookies, dried fruit, coffee, and tea, with burritos or granola bars on some departures. Lunch may include ceviche, sashimi, aguachile, focaccia sandwiches, baguettes, or other local specialties available on the day of your departure.
