ABOUT THE EXPEDITION

For true explorers seeking a deeper connection with nature—welcome to the frontier of regenerative tourism in Loreto, Baja California Sur. As pioneers in this movement, our expeditions are led by dedicated experts who live year-round on location, where adventure fuels scientific discovery, conservation, and deep respect for wildlife.

Join our mid-distance research and exploration expeditions, where adventure meets purpose. With 2 expert bilingual guides, a local captain, and a small group (4–8 participants), you’ll actively contribute to groundbreaking cetacean distribution research while immersing yourself in the untamed beauty of the Gulf of California and the islands of Loreto National Park.

During the expedition, you won’t just observe marine life—you’ll help track it. Learn to log GPS sightings, capture Photo-ID for individual recognition, identify species, understand their ecological importance and threats, and record cetacean vocalizations, contributing to real-time research while exploring the wild heart of Loreto in the Gulf of California.

Immerse yourself in the wild heart of Loreto—a UNESCO World Heritage Site where turquoise waters meet volcanic islands. Swim, snorkel, and freedive alongside mobula rays, sea lions, tropical fish or permitted species, while birding, island-hopping to explore hidden coves and hike trails shaped by ancient lava flows.

We collaborate with Mario A. Pardo from CICESE Laboratory, analyzing cetacean data from Loreto National Park to strengthen conservation strategies, expand scientific knowledge, develop management plans, and promote regenerative tourism.

Guided by Regina Domingo and Leopoldo Sanmiguel, you’ll have the chance to snorkel in vibrant coastal areas and caves, encountering colorful fish, playful sea lions, and schools of fish and dolphins and other marine megafauna.

Each season offers unique highlights: whales, different species dolphins, mobula rays, rays, bait-balls, marine birds, sea turtles and sharks.

Support regenerative tourism and vital conservation efforts while navigating one of the most biodiverse marine ecosystems on Earth.
