About the adventure

Escape into the sunset golden light with a memorable Sunset Ranch Ride just outside Loreto. We’ll take you from town to a traditional family ranch nestled in the foothills of the Sierra de la Giganta, where ranching traditions have shaped life for generations.

Meet local ranchers, learn about their self-sufficient lifestyle, and discover a way of life deeply connected to the land. Their horses and mules are gentle, well cared for, and trusted companions in daily ranch work, alongside sheep, pigs, chickens, and cattle.

Your approximately 2-hour horseback ride follows scenic desert trails through towering cactus forests, with breathtaking views of the mountains, colorful sunsets, and glimpses of the Gulf of Calidornia. On some afternoons, you may even witness the traditional cattle drive (arreo)—an authentic and unforgettable glimpse into Baja’s living cultural heritage.

This experience includes round-trip transportation from Loreto, bilingual interpretive guides, storytelling and translation with the ranching family, and beautiful photographs of your adventure.

Perfect for travelers with a free afternoon who want more than a horseback ride, an authentic connection with the landscapes, people, and cultural heritage of Baja California Sur.
